Objective: 
 
The objective of this forum is to identify and assist existing and potential small businesses in Cameroon, and key economic opportunities for funding in the following targeted areas; (1) training of individuals and representatives of organization in business-related skills; and (2) provide a one-on-one technical assistance for entrepreneurs. 
 
The Economic Development Program is designed to help targeted areas within Cameroon's ten provinces in the areas of business and economic development; to establish an identifiable and strengthened business development program at local university centres and NGOs; to strengthen the partnerships with the targeted communities, assist in preparing of applications for funding and credit opportunities. We also focus on small companies interested in business ventures, providing general business and economic data, and creating an open exchange of information between business entities. Business Links provides opportunities for developing international contacts for businesses in Cameroon and neighbouring African states. 
 
The CCOP / CAC 2003-2006 agenda includes sponsoring Business Roundtable Series and Conference events that focus on Cameroon's business development, prospects for sustained economic growth, and current trends in different sectors of the Cameroonian economy. The Series provides a person-to-person interaction among members of the global business community. The forum also organises academic conferences, lectures and seminars involving policy makers in Cameroon, non-govenmental organisations and businesses. 
 
Program Funding: 
 
The Economic Development Program is funded by a consortium of international development organisations, local financial institutions, Private Businesses and Philanthropists. 
 
Administration and Implementation: 
 
The program is administered through The Centre for Independent Development Research - Cameroon, The Cameroon Foundation and The Centre for Agricultural and Liberal Endeavours, Limbe, Cameroon. 
 
Program Geographic Target Area: 
 
The Economic Development Program is available to businesses and individuals within the rural areas of the Cameroon's ten provinces. The initial target area is two (2) divisions per province. 
 
General Requirements for Participants: 
 
The participants are foreign investor(s),Manufacturers / Exporters and agent (individuals) who desire to export and start a new business or improve an existing business or economic opportunity with Cameroon Government through the South West Commission.
