Cammeroon Contract Organization Project / Contract Award Committee (CCOP / CAC)

Our Mission

The CAMEROON CONTRACT ORGANIZATION PROJECT / CONTRACT AWARD COMMITTEE [CCOP / CAC] was launched in July, 2005. The project is essentially a crusade and campaign aimed at providing intellectual services and constructive debates on the ways and means (means and ways) in which Cameroon and its people can match forward, achieving economic progress and development. The project brings together a team that highlights the diverse resources and talents of Cameroonian experts living abroad, to constructively assist policy planners in Cameroon in crafting polices to accelerate national economic growth - a condition sine qua non for improving the welfare of Cameroon's people. In addition, the project provides economic and development intelligence information to business leaders and development organisations in Cameroon via seminars, conferences, lectures and meetings.

The CCOP / CAC initiative is guided by an International Advisory Committee of distinguished scientists, development experts, policy makers and civil society leaders. The CCOP / CAC works with many partners in the public sector, the civil society and the private sector in Cameroon to develop and power ahead a shared vision and consensus for action on how to acheive sustainable economic growth, while reducing poverty and upholding human welfare, improved living standards and the dignity of Cameroon's peoples.

The articles posted on this website focus on the emerging or driving forces that shape the prospects for economic and human welfare development in Cameroon. These articles engage, inform, educate and energize us to translate the ideas into action, and to catalyze faster strides that will culminate in the achievement of CCOP / CAC's mission. The CCOP / CAC initiative is first of its kind in Cameroon.

Cameroon, a country of diverse culture and fascinating people, with enormous wealth, magnificient fauna and flora, interesting political history and beautiful beaches is truly an Oasis in Africa. An Oasis is not merely a place where water is found. It also represents calm in the midst of turbulence. The vision of an oasis always offers the traveller a feeling of promise. The promise of needs and desires being fulfilled, an escape from the shackles of everyday life and a rejuvenation of the spirit. Cameroon represents an oasis in Africa--a nation of peace and immense tranquility that has shielded itself from the political turbulence and civil strife that have engulfed many African states. Turbulence that provides gory pictures to the media to feed its global audience. Cameroon, the last bastion of peace in Africa, where even the earth's most exotic creatures roam freely in game reserves and national parks, and vibrant colours of many of the world's plant species enrich its stunning countrysides. Cameroon clearly stands out as the jewel of peace and human development. Cameroon therefore presents a lucrative attraction for the business investor and/or the intrepid traveller.

If you are interested in visiting Cameroon in the near future, we hope you will enjoy your sojourn in Cameroon--Africa in miniature---and will return to Cameroon again to enjoy the immense resources it offers. If you are a foreign investor seeking the hightest rate of return for your limited capital, Cameroon offers tremendous opportunities. If you are a native son or daughter, then the homeland offers you immense untapped potential, waiting to be mined by the dedicated and visionary Cameroonian. We hope that you will read, with patience, the materials posted on this web site by seasoned academics, commentators and the best of Cameroon's native sons and daughters.
